Identitypass Launches 4 Additional endpoints For Kenyan Identities

We are pleased to announce the addition of four new verification endpoints in Kenya. At Identitypass, our mission is to ensure businesses throughout Africa can build online trust and implement KYC compliance with their customers. Our quest revolves around the continuous development of trustworthy and effective products that enable African businesses to solve critical verification and inclusion challenges in Africa.

Kenya is one of the most prominent players in technological advancement and creative inclination. Kenya is home to 93 of Africa’s 576 Fintechs as of 2021 (Statista, 2021). As digital penetration grows, Kenya is seeing a massive increase in digital businesses sprouting up in every nuke and corner. Kenya is one of the most populous East African countries and a hub for advanced mobile money technology and services, resulting in a customer base with an increasing appetite for innovative verification solutions.

However, it is essential to note that technological penetration has its drawbacks, manifesting in the form of various fraudulent activities perpetrated by unscrupulous Kenyan citizens against businesses. According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, the country’s total number of reported online frauds increased more than fivefold from 51 in 2019 to 270 in 2020 due to increased internet access among Kenyans.

Finding practical solutions to the rising challenge of cyber threats and identity theft incidents remains a significant challenge for Kenyan businesses. As a verification company focused on ensuring maximum online trust and safety within and outside of Africa, we have identified some of the gaps in the verification and compliance space, which significantly impact the types of products we build for businesses. We’ve added more Kenyan data verification endpoints to our existing endpoints today. These new endpoints are:

1. National Identity

2. Passport Number

3. Drivers License

4. National ID Serial Number
